an Adventure Between Dimensions: On Kindle Vella Now
A cool autumn breeze blows through the air. The yellow light of a five pointed mascot drinking coffee reflects off the window of Stellar Café. Indoors, the espresso machine burbles, despite the late hour. Kevin sets aside his favorite Elementary Detective novel to rush upstairs, then down, then up again. His nightly stair reps. He does these before studying. After studying he will take another practice test. After that he will spend some time on the treadmill. He will be up all night long, like he always is. He’s preparing, for an adventure he can barely imagine.
Half a dimension away-
A monster with a Moonpie head, muffin eyes, saurian limbs and a coiled tubular body sprints across an endless plain having just escaped the Traveler’s prison. There are whispers of doom echoing from distant forests. The door long closed has opened. Everything is at stake. To save it Tazo is going to need a little help, and a lot of coffee!
Elsewhere: A lone barista plans for a better day, an accident lawyer takes a long drive, a pizza goes uneaten in the arms of a handsome model, a fish stirs a pool of portent, and triangles flock through a lavender sky.
Coffee Chronicles
Authors Note
Coffee Chronicles is an episodic adventure story that I started a long, long, time ago. I never really found a good home for it. It’s episodic: inspired by the random times that I would decided to write them. It’s ridiculous because I wanted to make it silly. It’s about coffee because I would write them in Coffee Shops. And hopefully it’s entertaining and genuine!
Mostly, it was simply a story to inflict upon friends and family unfortunate enough to find themselves on my email list.
It has finally found a potential home. All it takes is an Amazon Account. The first 3 ‘episodes’ are free on Amazon Kindle. The story will continue through the first full season. If you are, like Bethany, Amelia, Ric, and Rudy, interested in a crazy story about a coffee drinking kid and his alien friend check it out!*
This button will take you to the first free episode on Amazon. You do need an Amazon account.
This art comes from a very old Coffee Chronicles comic. I’ve always imagined a strong visual element with Coffee Chronicles, hopefully it will someday happen.
